This PowerPoint was created for PSD students, but has been used for non-disabled peers at the Pre-K and K levels. It introduces the letter “Yy” through sound/symbol association, and also illustrates words beginning with the letter “y,” including yellow, yogurt, yell, yawn, yarn, and yo-yo.
Students love this presentation, as the timing allows time for students to process information and actively participate in their learning. It also allows teachers to pace instruction, to either isolate or reinforce skills. Every year, these types of visual presentations are always a big hit, and promote and improve student attention and participation. Once the presentation is completed, we then complete either a multi-sensory letter activity or craft, and then follow it up with a pencil/paper worksheet.
