This is my favorite activity that I do with my students! It is fun and very educational at the same time. First, I read the book, "Alphabet Mystery" by Aubrey Wood. Afterwards the students go on a letter hunt for the letters in their name.
1. Cut out letters from magazines. You will need a lot! If you cannot find enough letters in magazines, you can simply print off individual capital and lower-case letters from the computer in a variety of fonts, but it looks better if you get the letters from magazines.
2. Set out letters on the table. Students must search the table and find the letters that are in their name, and glue them on these pencils. Great for name and letter recognition!
