I am a firm believer in teaching concepts through play. Turn a concept into a game and students learn! OH NO is a great game to play with students in small groups. It is easy to adapt to various learning levels. Included are both color and BW versions of the game. The directions give ways to extend the learning for other students who have already mastered letter recognition. The game is quick to play and a great way to review/practice and master letter recognition.
Once students have learned how to play the game I include it in independent center/workshop tubs as students are able to play without adult help. Directions for the Oh NO game are on the next page.
I often copy the game for parents to use with students at home. It is a great way for parents to help their child learn while having fun! I have included a page with multiple copies of the directions should you want to send home the game
This is a game I use year after year as my students learn letters and sounds. It requires very little prep: copy, laminate (for durability) cut apart and play!
