Let kinesthetic and visual learners explore the alphabet and initial letter sound with these colorful play dough mats. Perfect, no prep center to engage students while exploring the alphabetic principle and letter formation. All 26 letters include three labeled pictures to help expand students' vocabulary.
I created these alphabet play dough mats to share with the kinder teacher at my school. I use my Dolch sight word play dough mats with my first graders, and this center is a hit for student focus, engagement, and quiet voice levels :)
Feel free to give students letter mats for letters they do not know yet; I hope the pictures at the top will help students identify initial sound independently (though, they will have some questions about pictures - a great opportunity to expand vocabulary!).
Easy prep! I print two slides to a page, front/back. Then, laminate or place in a page protector. You’re good to go!
While I have plans of making my own play dough soon, in the meantime, I am a big fan of Dollar Tree’s play dough. Four good size containers for a dollar? Yes, please!
