These cards can be used in many ways. A few possible pocket chart uses are as follows:
Using the cards which have both the capital and lowercase letters, children can practice arranging them in the correct order.
Using both sets of cards which have only capital letters and which have only lowercase letters, children can practice matching capital letters to lower case letters as well as arranging them in the correct order.
Using any set of alphabet cards, children can practice matching picture cards to initial sound cards.
Focusing on initial letters of words, children can match picture cards to word cards.
These cards can also be used at Teacher Table in small group to practice alphabet recognition, initial sounds, and beginning reading strategies.
The cards have been created using a pattern to help the children reduce the number of cards on which to focus when looking for a particular letter.
