Alphabet Printable Freebie is a sample of Alphabet Printables Superpack
. Letter "A" is included. This unit is packed full of great activities to include in your letter of the week, RTI or letter introduction activities. If you are one that feels guilty giving young learners worksheets this is a guilt free pack that allows young learners to use different mediums of materials to complete. This a developmentally appropriate packet!
This packet includes one of each of the activities below for each letter:
Just a Dot: This is a fun activity to encourage children to look closer at the formation of the letter. Each page also contains pictures that contain the beginning sound the letter makes. Students will choose dobbers to dot the letter and pictures.
Decorate It: I use this activity at the art center or after I have introduced a letter. I place Q-tips in paint (fine-motor), and the boys and girls paint and decorate the letter. The boys and girls chat about the letter as they work. I also like to use watercolors.
Rainbow Write: This is a great activity to help the boys and girls practice forming the letters. I like to place this activity in the writing center after a letter has been introduced or after review. The boys and girls use a variety of colored pencils to trace and re-trace each letter.
Trace It, Find It, Write It : This activity, helps students work on the formation of the upper and lowercase letters. It encourages them to look at the similarities and differences of the upper and lowercase letters. Students will search through different fonts to find the letters and practice forming the letters.
Sticker It: This activity will help students work there fingers while practicing forming/building an uppercase letter. Place stickers at the center with the letter you are working on. Students will start at the large black dot and continue to build the letter like they would write it.
Letter Sound Sort: The boys and girls will look closer at the sound the letters make and what it might sound like at the beginning of a word. They will glue sounds that begin like the picture. They will discard the rest.
Punch It: This is a great activity to use in a fine motor center. The boys and girls will search through letters to find the matching uppercase letters and use a paper punch/or theme punch to select the correct uppercase letter. They enjoy coloring the letter when they have finished.
