Children will develop their fine-motor skills, their alphabet letter recognition and reinforce their initial letter sounds with this activity.
These QUEENSLAND BEGINNERS FONT Alphabet Push Pin Cards are suitable for independent, small group and whole class use. A push pin will be required for each child.
My children love this activity as it is very relaxing and heaps of fun as the end results are somewhat magical.
Print out the following alphabet sheets and cut them in half so that you have one letter to each card. I place the alphabet card on top of a piece of A5 construction paper or light card and staple them together.
The activity must be done on a rug or carpet so that the push pin will go through both layers and create a pin hole.
Children poke their push pin along the black lines of the upper and lower case letter as well as the simple black lined picture that corresponds to each letter’s sound. Upon completion, children may remove the top alphabet card to reveal the dotted picture ready to hang on a window.
This allows the light to shine through and creates the magic.
