Alphabet Recognition: n to z - Punch, Stamp, Colour, Write! Letter and sound practice. Another addition to our very popular series of these fun hole punching activities!
Alphabet Recognition is an engaging, independent activity which covers letter recognition, formation practise and sound practise all rolled into one! It is designed to encourage students to be independent workers and to self-check their own work by using the key provided and the given information on each page. Our students really enjoy using hole punchers – it’s fun and builds their hand strength at the same time!
There are detailed instructions and a key to print and display for the students. There are 13 individual pages (one for each letter of the alphabet from n through to z) that follow the same, clear layout. All pages are black and white. Students are required to follow these steps to complete the activity…
Punch, Stamp or Colour – students will find the required amount of capital and lower case letters they are to find, at the top of each page. Pictures of which method to identify them with (hole punching, stamping or colouring) accompany the amount. Students work their way around the outer grid to locate the letters
Write – students practise their handwriting on the given lines
Write - ‘rainbow write’, using their three favourite colours within the large letters on the bottom half of the page
Colour – colour the four pictures that start with the sound (3 for the letter x!)
Finally – students are encouraged to count carefully around the grid to check they have found the required amount of letters and fill in the faces at the bottom of each page accordingly!
We hope your students enjoy this activity as much as ours do!
