Alphabet Shape Booklets
About this book:
This book contains a set of alphabet shape booklets that can be used for many different activities to reinforce letter recognition and writing. Each letter includes a cover page, a page with writing lines, a page with writing lines and blank space for drawing and a completely blank page.
Directions for use:
Decide which pages you’d like to use, print them and make copies for your students. To assemble the booklets for use, cut around the dotted lines, stack the pages in order and then staple on the left side that has been shaded grey.
Some ideas for how to use these booklets are:
Alphabet stamping (blank page): provide children with alphabet stamps and they can stamp the correct letter on the page using different ink colours.
Alphabet magazine hunt (blank page): provide children with child-friendly magazines and ask them to cut out as many focus letters that they can find and paste them on the page.
Alphabet writing (writing lines page): children practice writing the focus letter.
Beginning sounds (blank page): provide children with child-friendly magazines and ask them to cut out pictures that begin with the focus letter.
Spelling book (writing lines page): children write unknown words for future reference.
Sight word book (writing lines page): children write sight words to help them with their spelling.
Writing book for beginners (half writing lines and half empty page): children write simple sentences and then illustrate them.
Story book (writing lines page): children write stories using as many words from that begin with the focus letter.
All About Me booklets (writing lines page and blank page): each child receives a book that begins with the first letter of his name. Children write about themselves and then draw a picture or paste a photo of themselves on the blank page.
Happy Teaching :)
