Hmmm - not sure why the fonts have changed. Please don't download until I correct this! :)
These types of activities really helped my students' letter formation and handwriting this year! Students sort letters based upon some of their defining characteristics. Two different sorts are included. The first activity asks students to sort letters into three categories - letters with both tall uppercase and lowercase letters, letters with a tall uppercase but a short lowercase letter, and letters with a tall uppercase and a "dippy" (goes below the bottom line) lowercase letter. The second activity asks students to sort letters based upon how similar the uppercase and lowercase letters look to one another. For instance, Oo, Xx, and Ss would go in one category because the uppercase and lowercase versions are the same (with the exception of size of course) whereas Ff, Ee, and Gg would go in another category because their uppercase and lowercase versions are distinctly different from one another.
