I use this activity as a phonemic awareness center with my kindergarten students. I bring it a small saucepan and fill it with magnetic alphabet letters. If you don't have magnetic alphabet letters you can print off pages 2-3 on card stock and laminate them for use with this center.
Kids dip into the pot with a spoon, name the letters they pulled out, share the sound they make (my kids also do the Roxie motion for the sound), and then write the letter on their pot of alphabet soup.
Kids enjoy this center and I have had a great response from parents who liked the idea and used it at home to practice with their child. Enjoy!
