Alphabet Tracing Book!
According to Jan Richardson, “tracing is by far the fastest and easiest way for children to learn their letters, even if they are learning English.” This alphabet book will help do the trick! Print, laminate, cut apart, hole punch, and put it on a ring. Kids are using their finger to trace both the uppercase and lowercase letter, saying the letter each time. The student points to the picture and names it (e.g. A, a, apple)
This can be used with an aide, older trained student, parent volunteer, or para-educator. The adult sits with the child and makes sure that s/he makes the correct formation and says the correct sound. If the student does not know the name of the letter, the adult can assist by telling the name as well as sound. The kids should also point to the picture and name it. I have also included a file where the letters to be traced are in red, to stand out.
Also included an editable file which allows you to add your own images to match your alphabet!
