Whenever a letter is introduced, use these word building pages. Each page contains at least 5 words to build using that sound (usually beginning the word). We do these together each week in my classroom. I ask them what the first picture is; then we finger-spell it. Finally, we write it, one phoneme at a time. This teaches letter sounds as well as vowel pairs and digraphs. My children learn with these throughout the year, and by the end of the year, they have been introduced to so many sounds and words! You will be amazed how much this helps them read and write! Consonant clusters are written as separate sounds with these pages.
