Zap…Put One Letter Back
A Game To Reinforce Letter Recognition
This easy letter recognition game is designed for students to have fun while learning letters. Each child pulls a card out of a bag, names the letter, keeps the card and continues playing. If they do not know the letter a friend or teacher can tell them, but they have to put the letter back into the bag. If they pull out the lightning Bolt from the bag that says ,” Zap…Put one Letter Back,” the player has to put one letter that they have earned back. Play continues until time is up or all letter cards are gone. The player with the most letters earned wins the game.
I would use a larger gift bag and fill it with packing peanuts, or rice to add a sensory piece and make it easier to pull one card at a time.
This game can be used as an informal assessment, RTI or just as a fun game. ENJOY!
