An engaging, independent activity designed to develop fine motor skills, alphabet recognition and initial sound knowledge. Our students really enjoy using hole punchers – it’s fun and builds their hand strength at the same time!
Please note, this product is also available in NSW Pre-Cursive Font. If you would like to check it out click here.
There are detailed instructions and photo examples included in the download. There are 26 individual pages (one for each letter of the alphabet) that follow the same, clear layout. All pages are black and white. Students are required to follow these steps to complete the activity…
Write – students ‘rainbow write’ the alphabet letter in the middle of the page (download the preview for more information)
Cut – students cut off the bottom section and find the pictures that match the beginning sound
Paste – students paste the pictures onto the empty picture squares. There are three pictures to paste for each letter (except for ‘x’ – it has 2 pictures only)
Punch – students use a hole punch to find all the matching letters around the edge of the page. Many different fonts have been used (in both upper and lower case) to help students recognize the many different ways a letter may be written.
We hope your students enjoy this activity as much as ours do!
