This oh so simple game has proven itself worthy in my kinderclass as students quickly learn their letters and numbers to 20.
This packet includes 3 sets of (8.5x11) cards
Upper case in 3 fonts (Aharoni, D'nealie, and Primary Palmer)
Lower case in 3 fonts (Aharoni, D'nealie, and Primary Palmer)
Numbers to 0 to 20 (Primary Palmer)
I usually run these on colored cardstock for durability purposes, but you can run them on anything.
Each letter and number is on an (8.5x11) sheet but you can easily shrink to any size.
I pass these out to my class. I begin by asking "Who has A?" If we need to we all look at the alphabet strip above our board. The child who has A must say "I have A". Then I ask , "Who has B?" and again we point to B and so on... as the children become more familiar... we all chant... Who has ???.... The kids love it... This game has really helped my students develop letter naming fluency and they beg to play.
For alternative play... You can also use these cards to develop phonemic awareness... "I have /ck/... who has /j/???"
On numbers... you might hold up a ten frame or draw dots to have students count to recognize the number he/she is holding.
Don't you just love it when they are learning and they think they are just playing...
