We are always practicing letters and sight words in my classroom! This game is the perfect way to practice in March around St. Patrick's Day! My kiddos love Looking for a Leprechaun! It's easy to set up and fun to play again and again!
Just print the letter or word cards that you want to use. There are premade cards for every letter, digraphs, and commonly confused words. An editable set of cards is included so you can customize the game to fit your classroom. (The editable version opens in PowerPoint). Place the word cards in a pocket chart and hide the leprechaun behind one of the words. Kiddos guess a word and then you check to see if the leprechaun is hiding behind the card!
If a child guesses right, I like to give out a small reward like a sticker or mini eraser. Have the kids hide their eyes and move the leprechaun behind a new card. It's simple, and they love playing again and again!
