This master contains lower and uppercase cards that are approximately 2.5 X 2.5 inches. There are 8 cards for each vowel except "y," and 6 cards for each consonant and "y." This number is the same for both the lower case and the uppercase. If copied onto card stock or even stronger material, these cards are excellent for children to make contact with and "work" the letters with their own hands. We know that many learners benefit from hands-on learning. There is also a blank template for you to use as you like.
The cards on the blackline have a small space between them to facilitate easy and clean cutting. You can cut them into prepared packs, or the students could cut their own and each have their own stack of cards.
The letters are from a thick, clear font, accessible to younger learners.
These manipulatives can also be used extremely effectively in ESL classrooms, giving students similar opportunities as explained above. I have used these cards many times in ESL classes and I find that students are more engaged and more analytical -- i.e., they are learning more -- when they can use their hands to learn language.
