Alphabet letter sound picture cards **UPDATED FILE (more pictures)
Can be used in so many different ways:
-Glue the picture on the back of each letter, guess the sound, flip it over to check
-Match the lower case letter to a picture
-Match lowercase letters to capital letters
-Place letters on the floor in alphabetical order. Match picture cards underneath
-Choose a random letter from the pile, find a matching picture
I recommend starting with only lower case letters as initially it is more important for children to be able to recognise lower case letters for when they are 'sounding out words' during reading.
You could cut them out and glue the pictures on the back of the letters. Or, cut them out and use as separate cards (what sound does monkey start with? Find the /m/ card.)
This is a word document that you can edit. You may like to change some of the pictures to photos of family members and friends (m-mum, d-dad, e-Ebony) or their favourite animals, likes and interests (f-fairy, m-mermaid, b-ballerina, d-dinosaur, n-ninja, p-power rangers, s-soccer) etc."
It's a pretty simple document.. but hey, it's free and it saves you having to make a similar one yourself!
I have used NSW foundation font as I teach in Australia.
All images used are freely available on the internet using 'Google images' search, they are not my own.
