An elementary game from my aunt's previous classrooms to help students learn alphabetization (or review dictionary skills).
Game is for a small group (3-5 players). Once you have printed, laminated, and cut the cards, students can quickly use this game at any point. It is best to print the guide word cards and the individual word cards on different colors.
Game is played by evenly passing out the individual word cards to every player. The guide word cards go in the center of the group. Turn over the top guide word card - all players lay down as many words as they can from their hand that would be found between those words in a dictionary. Once every player has had a turn, repeat turning over guide word card... continue until one player runs out (becomes the winner) or the guide word cards are gone.
Can also be played with just the guide words for upper levels - have students come up with words that would be in between the two on the card.
