This graphic organizer can be used to help students while learning/researching about a topic. Students fill in words related to their topic for each letter of the alphabet.
This organizer helps students learn to write 1-2 word notes rather than writing or copying full sentences. Students can also use this organizer coupled with sentence patterning strategies to create their own sentences about their topic.
This organizer can be used as a note taking tool with any non-fiction unit of study, but I find it especially useful during our Biographies/Influential People unit. The students use the alphabox chart to record facts and information they are learning, as well as, personality traits and qualities they feel their person embodies.
I have included 2 versions of the organizer in this PDF, a single page version and a 2 sided version. The 2 sided version is to accommodate students who need additional space when writing.
