Product Description
The game boards and cards in this set can be used to play 5 different games to reinforce alphabet recognition, order and upper/lower case matching. You will need 10 small markers for each player—counting chips, beans, buttons, etc.
WHAT COMES NEXT? Players take turns turning over the top card and reading the letter. Each player looks on their board for the letter that comes next in the alphabet. If they have that letter, they cover it with a marker. The first player to cover all their letters is the winner.
WHAT COMES BEFORE? This is much harder than the "next" version! Players take turns turning over the top card and reading the letter. Each player looks on their board for the letter that comes before that letter in the alphabet. If they have that letter, they cover it with a marker. The first player to cover all their letters is the winner.
BEFORE & AFTER: Players take turns turning over the top card and reading the letter. Each player looks on their board to see if they have the letter that comes next in the alphabet, the letter that comes before it in the alphabet, or both. Players cover any spaces with those letters. The first player to cover all their letters is the winner.
UPPER/LOWER MATCH: Players take turns flipping over the top card and reading the letter. Each player looks on their board for the matching lower case letter. If they have it, they cover it with a marker. The first player to cover all their letters wins.
CONCENTRATE: Sort through the cards and pick out pairs of letters (upper and lower case). Start by playing with 5 or 7 pairs (any odd number) - add more pairs as students become more skilled. Shuffle the chosen cards and place face down in a grid pattern. Players take turns flipping over 2 cards. If they match (upper and lower case of the same letter), the player takes the cards. If there is no match, the cards get turned back over after all players have had a chance to see their location. When all pairs have been won, the player with the most pairs is the winner.
