Students will improve reading fluency. Students will learn about seven alternative energy sources as they read each script.
Alternative Energy Partner Plays: This set of seven scripts focuses on renewable resources, nonrenewable resources, and alternative energy options. They can certainly be used at any time of the year, but they would be an excellent activity for Earth Day!
As an added bonus, these partner play scripts are intended to be used as fluency-building activities that students read with a partner. Reading comprehension is also assessed through the follow-up comprehension worksheets. After reading each script, students answer the questions that accompany that particular script.
When you purchase this resource, you will get to choose the format that best meets your needs and your students' needs. You will choose between the printable partner plays and the paperless version that uses Google Slides.
These scripts require minimal teacher support, thereby allowing teachers to work with other small groups. For teachers who implement reading centers, these plays are perfect.
This set includes these SEVEN independent scripts:
-The Need for Alternative Energy (renewable resources, nonrenewable resources, fossil fuels)
-Solar Energy (solar cells)
-Wind Energy (wind turbines, wind farms)
-Hydroelectric Energy (dams, turbines, generators)
-Geothermal Energy (geothermal pumps and geothermal power plants)
-Nuclear Energy (uranium, the pros and cons of nuclear energy)
-Biomass Energy (biofuels, ethanol)
