Hey Photography teachers! Are you fed up with students that habitually neglect their photography assignments and are therefore left with nothing to do in your class? Well, I have a solution to your problem! The Alternative Photography Research Assignment! This assignment can be given to replace any photography project for students that neglect their photo assignment. The research assignment can be used as a penalty, but also provides the student with a constructive and applicable assignment. The alternative assignment gives the teacher control over what these students are doing with their class time. When given the assignment, student lose an automatic 15 points from their original 100 point project. Students can still earn an 85% on the assignment so long as they follow the given criteria for the research assignment. This assignment provides students that fall behind a way to stay productive and catch up, but not without the consequence of a 15 point reduction. The assignment can be completed in class or at home, whichever the teacher prefers.
The assignment is easy to grade with the included rubric which is mainly based off of how well students answered each question and whether they fulfilled the sentence requirement for each question.
*This assignment can also be given to students that are absent for long periods of time to complete as make-up work while they are at home in place of the original project. In this case, I do not deduct 15 points.
