This reading guide is structured in the Cornell note-taking framework. It contains questions that align to each reading section of Prentice Hall's textbook, "America: History of Our Nation." Each sections asks students to build background knowledge before reading by identifying and defining key vocabulary terms. The reading guide also utilizes "Reciprocal Reading" strategies by asking students to make predictions before they read a section, answer clarifying questions as they read, and answer a summary question after they finish a section. The questions are scaffolded to allow students to critically think about the text and extend their learning beyond the information found in the textbook. The guided reading questions were designed for 7-12th grade students. This specific question set aligns with Chapters 11 & 12 from the "America: History of Our Nation" textbook.
