Subtract the Room
(Minuends to 10)
America Rocks Subtract the Room provides learners with fun and exciting math centers to practice subtraction facts. This packet has 5 sets of Subtract the Room equation cards. Each set has 10 cards. There is a recording page for each set of cards. The cards and recording pages have matching Symbols of America graphics. The patriotic graphics include Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell, the bald eagle, and the American flag. America Rocks Subtract the Room may be used at any time during the year. These activities work well for Presidents’ Day, the 4th of July, or Veterans’ Day.
Print, laminate, and cut out the equation cards. Make copies of the recording pages.
Hang the cards in places all around the room. Give each student a clipboard, pencil, and recording page. Learners search the room for cards with equations. When they find a card, they write the equation and difference in the correct space on the recording sheet.
America Rocks Subtract the Room helps learners develop subtraction fluency and supports the Math Common Core Standards for Operations and Algebraic Thinking.
The graphics used in America Rocks Subtract the Room are from Scrappin Doodles and My Cute Graphics.
