America the Beautiful Brochure and Research Report
This purchase includes a brochure template for students to use as they define the following words: brotherhood, liberty, pride, and freedom. Students need to understand the meaning of these words. Through this task, they will understand and be able to connect American symbols like the bald eagle, liberty bell, statue of liberty, and the USA army to these concepts.
As an extension, I have included pre-writing papers for your class to use as they research these four topics: bald eagle, liberty bell, statue of liberty, and the USA army. Pulling in non-fiction text is huge with Common Core State Standards. This is a great way to accomplish that task. You could have students collaborate as they research or allow them to research alone. I have also included papers for your students to write their informational findings on.
