Product Description
The following worksheets are designed to accompany the series episode “America, the Story of US: Civil War” released by the History Channel. These worksheets are each guided by an essential question and include content vocabulary, drawing activities, and a summary.

Students will be engaged as they watch through a series of focus questions. The design of these worksheets follows the Cornell style, complete with topic, essential question, and a variation featuring two-column notes.

There are three versions of the worksheet attached so that you can show a single video but offer a differentiated product for the diverse learners in your classroom. Worksheets are for students who may fall into one of three categories:
• RED group – labeled (R): emerging English language learners (students working on translating words or simple sentences)
• WHITE group – labeled (W): students requiring modified assignments; expanding English language learners (students working on writing sentences or simple paragraphs)
• BLUE group – labeled (B): students able to complete work at or above grade level; bridging English language learners (students working on writing multiple paragraphs or preparing for reclassification)
