This document based resource will provide the opportunity for your students to get up close and personal with the colonial period.
The assignment gives the students the opportunity to describe the similarities and differences between the Northern and Southern Colonies. They will then answer a few short questions about the colonial period. Finally, students will answer a series of short, document-based questions to help them develop a deeper, more thorough understanding of the process of indentured servitude during the colonial period. Students can work alone or in groups and at the conclusion of the activity students will have a better understanding of the way the colonial system worked.
