PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This assignment has graphic organizers that address the rhetorical devices used in Roosevelt's speech. I use it with an American Dream unit to examine the "promise of the American Dream" for immigrants; we compare this analysis to the poem "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus. There is a part in one of the graphic organizers that asks students to cite textual evidence and make the connection.

Addresses CCSS RI.1, RI.2, RI.3 and RI.5.

I am uploading it as a Word document so you may adjust to meet your instruction and curriculum.

I have students complete an electronic copy of the assignment so they may change text colors and annotate and then print to study.
