Product Description
This station activity encourages students to explore the idea of the "American Dream" by first dissecting the original quote from James Truslow Adam from which this concept came and then visiting 5 stations around the room where they decide if the American Dream represents a promise, a reality or an illusion. Each station uses different ideas such as literary texts (i.e. Whitman's "I Hear America Singing") or surveys of people's opinions of the American dream to explore the idea. The lesson is both interactive and has connections between the historic and modern day.

Included is powerpoint introduction (4 slides), worksheets (in .pdf or .docx if you want to edit), and stations materials (in .pdf form).
