The following is a combined graphic organizer (chart) and map activity in which students are instructed to use their textbooks/notes/research to complete three parts.
Part 1 of this activity asks students to describe the American Foreign Policy in the 1980's under Ronald Reagan.
Part 2 of this activity instructs students are given 9 nations in which America was involved with (via foreign policy) in the 1980's. For each country students are to identify key people and groups involved, describe the events which took place involving the U.S. and the nation at hand, and list outcomes and effects. By doing this part of the activity students are essentially categorizing their thoughts into a graphic organizer.
Part 3 asks students are provided two maps and instructed to locate and label each of the 9 countries on the appropriate map.
