My daughter just started reading the American Girl historical fiction books. In fact, she is on Book One-Meet Felicity. This book is an easy to read, enjoyable book. I decided to create a lapbook for her to go along with her reading.
I have used many lapbook products and wanted to create one that kind of fixed some of the issues we have with lapbooks.
First, I wanted the questions printed right on the lapbook piece.
Next, I wanted a picture on the cover of each piece that she could color.
Finally, I wanted it to do more than just be "something to do." I wanted her to analyze the book and the characters' actions based on God's Word - which I'm trying to guide her to do with her own actions and decisions.
Here it is. A very simple lapbook with comprehension questions for every chapter printed right on the lapbook piece. Also included is a lapbook piece that asks thought provoking questions about the main character's actions such as, "What do you think could have happened if Felicity had remembered to pray about Penny? Do you think God could have softened Mr.Jiggy Nye’s heart and maybe even let him come visit Penny?"
Thanks and hope you enjoy our version of the American Girl Meet Felicity lapbook. We'll get started on Book 2 shortly.
For His glory,
