American Government: Bill of Rights, Articles of Confederation, and Constitution. If you teach about the American government and are looking for a few ideas to supplement your current lessons/activities about the big three dealing with rights, then this might just be what you are looking for.
I have used each of these items in my career as a middle school Social Studies teacher and have found each of them to be a success in their own way.
I use the Bill of Rights Singing Activity
as a way to get the kids active in combining their interpretation of an amendment into a fun song to be performed to our class.
I use the Articles of Confederation
activity as a way for students to see how our early form of government was not much different between the relationship between a parent and a teenager.
I use the Cloze Style Story Quiz
as a way to assess student knowledge about the U.S. government from the Articles of Confederation to the U.S. Constitution.
