One of the most invaluable skills that students should learn in high school is how to write. A Document Based Question (DBQ) is a form of assessment that brings together critical thinking and critical writing.
This particular DBQ has 8 "documents" (maps, excerpts, photos, etc.). There is a prompt and then three pages to write. Total: 8 pages.
I am requiring my students to memorize the presidents in order, so listing the first 7 presidents is on this document, as well.
DBQs are on the AP test, so this could also be used as test prep for the AP test!
