This is a classic that teachers often use at the beginning of a year-long United States history class or at the beginning of an American History unit.
The organizer asks students to come up with American History-related ideas that start with the each of the letters in the words American History. Then, to make the project more meaningful for the student and the teacher, it asks the student to say whether this is something they expect to be in the course, know will be in the course, or hope is in the course.
The Teacher Instructions included in this product offer ideas for differentiation and and increasing student engagement.
P.S. Similar "first letter" products are also available for Social Studies, European History, US History, and World Geography!
