27 Key Inventors and Inventions that shaped and changed America from small to large contributions. A quick and clear assignment and class research project that teachers can use to reinforce research skills, presentation skills, and content from 1750's to 1930's American innovation.
Students search school and historical databases (i.e. The National Archives, Library of Congress) on their inventor. Students present and highlight the contributions made by the inventor.
Students in the class can create a mini-Inventions book to take notes, or make a chart of the inventors, invention, year, etc in class.
Another way to present is to split the class in half and have students present at their desks and the other half visits, then flop the groups.
There are many activities and skills you can use to launch from this simple and engaging activity. It always involves any age to have them dress up, but that may be a bit much.
