Looking for resources about American popular music? What about for students to be able to comprehend how music reflects the times? This set will introduce your students to the music that was popular during the 1940’s. You will receive a slide presentation (in pdf form), 2 separate worksheets, 14 different exit tickets and 2 listening glyphs (4 versions of each), 7 graphic organizers (as well as sample answer key) and a workstation sign. YouTube links (most via Safe Share - a commercial free and safer site) are included so your students can listen (and sometimes actually watch) the performer who made a song popular. You can use this as a large group lesson or split your students into groups to learn about different decades via workstations.
