Included in this resource is a three day research-based introduction to American Realism created by The Pedantic Project. We have designed the activators and summarizers for these days to reflect The Devil in the White City. We have provided suggested lesson activators and summarizers to anchor the daily lessons, all of which are aligned to the Common Core Standards for Eleventh-Twelfth Grade English Language Arts. The answer keys are nearly all formatted exactly as the students’ activities. We hope this is more helpful than a list of microscopic answers listed at the end of a book. Within the suggested daily agenda, we have included daily suggestions for differentiation as well as opportunities for informal
and formal assessments.
If you will not be teaching The Devil in the White City, you may consider
exchanging out the book-specific activities with content related to your reading selections for American Realism. We want our resource to be a catalyst for the instruction in your classroom.
