History always has more than one side to every story. The American Revolution in one perspective is the founding of a nation, a fight to separate from a tyrannical monarch, and freedom from British oppression.
This 54 slide presentation looks at the perspective of the British Empire towards its colonies. The presentation begins by giving a broad introduction to British history prior to and during the Revolution to allow for understanding of the British perspective. It continues forward by looking at events leading up to the colonial outcry on a world stage, the political perspectives of Parliament, and the colonial viewpoints. It then leads into giving a more inclusive understanding of the Revolution and its key figures - both British and Colonial.
This also includes a large list of sources and additional resources for those who are interested in more information.
