Students work in groups to identify major battles and locations of events in the American Revolution. Students first get in groups and receive a map and a "Where in the Revolution Are You" set of questions. Students work together to place numbers on a map to identify where certain battles occur. For struggling students, a set of notes is also provided. Next, after identifying the locations of certain events, students receive a set of ID cards. One set has definitions for battles. For instance, for Saratoga, the card says "Turning Point, French Help." Another set of cards contains battle names only. One student will draw a card and place it on his or her forehead. For the definition cards, other group members read the card so the student can guess which battle. For the battle cards, students may either give the characteristics or tell students the battle name and ask him or her to give a characteristic. For students who struggle, the map and "Where in the Revolution Are You" papers can assist. The after activity is a quiz. Three different quizzes are provided. Thanks for your interest.
