The 20 engaging, non-fiction prompts in this packet will get kids thinking, researching, and writing about The Revolutionary War! They will use content to think about the "big ideas" of The Revolution.
I have included two formats: 1) individual response sheets and 2) a list of all the prompts, with blank paper, to allow for student choice.
There are a number of ways to use this product:
A pre-assessment, a more casual “quick write” in class, a graded post-assessment, a 2-3 day research project. (This is a great way to address research and technology standards.)
I have included research-based, content-rich suggested answers to show the direction the responses might go and to support content. Correct answers must be closely aligned to the specific content presented in each classroom.
I've included 2 grading rubrics and suggestions for timing.
