I created this to help my students understand timelines better, as well as the events leading up to and pertaining to the American Revolution. I made information strips of each event with pictures and dates. The students will use these strips to create a paper chain timeline and then turn it into a timeline in their notes. I was trying to make the timeline more visual for students who have difficulty using timelines. I then put the paper chain timelines up in the room, and students can continue to add to them based upon our classroom studies as well as their own research. This can be done as a group or independently.
