This file contains 33 important events in the history of the American Revolution. Each sheet has the date and event, a space for students to write a description, and a space for students to draw a picture. Some students might receive more than one. Students would write a brief summary of the event or say why they believe it was significant and then draw an illustration. Students can then share with others and place their events in chronological order. This can be done as an independent activity initially, but then used more interactively once students have completed their individual sections. I have students do this at the end of the school year and then I put them on display at the beginning of the next. Students could also each choose one event at the beginning of the year as a preview of what the year’s curriculum will hold. This is also serves as an effective research and summarizing activity as students will need to be succinct in their descriptions after researching their event.
