Product Description
This video guide accompanies the PBS 55-minute video "Underground Railroad: The William Still Story". It can be found on-line at PBS and on youtube. Still was a remarkable man who helped dozens of people escape slavery and kept detailed records of each case -- a boon to historians but a serious risk at the time to himself and those he helped. The front of this worksheet has content questions in chronological order for the video, which helps students watch with a purpose and have better discussions afterward. The back of the worksheet guides students through brainstorming discussion questions about the topics from the video, then gets them into groups to discuss their thoughts and insights, before writing their final reflections again on the worksheet.
