Product Description
Students are provided with 8 short bios (each with a picture) of a diverse group of prominent conductors of the Underground Railroad (I suggest a gallery walk). Men, women, black, white, rich, poor, politically powerful and politically powerless conductors all aided the cause in different ways. They complete an organizer about their role in the Underground Railroad and their accomplishments/legacy. Then they complete a summarizing follow-up activity in which they group the conductors into categories of their choosing a conduct additional research into one of the conductors of their choice.

Conductors = Isaac Hopper, John Brown, Harriet Tubman, Thomas Garrett, William Still, Levi Coffin, Elijah Anderson, Thaddeus Stevens
