This is an American Symbols, Landmarks, and Heroes close reading common core informational text unit focusing on first grade social studies themes. American symbols, Presidents, and The White House are all presented in article form. Each topic has a set of activities to help students internalize facts, connect to writing, discuss, and practice close reading annotation skills. It is three units in one.
