This note taking lesson will help students explore the topic of American Symbols. Research question boxes are: Basic facts, What does it stand for, Who made it, What is its history, and Where do you see it.
American Symbols note taking sheets include:
The Bald Eagle
Statue of Liberty
A blank note taking page for customization
Students can be assigned different symbols to research or each symbol can be studied in a whole group setting if preferred. Note taking sheets are fill-in-the-blank sentences to make it easier for students to choose the important words to answer research questions.
Students should use PebbleGo, online encyclopedias, ebooks or regular books to find the answers to the research boxes. A source box is also included for students to indicate the type of source used.
