The template provided allows students to use the virtual tour or any corresponding video of your choice to draw upon inspiration from American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial to create their own Veteran Memorial. Students will choose a groups to advocate of behalf of and draw upon the design of various memorials as they gather research information to create their own designs.
This classroom activity helped me build stronger relationships with students as they shared personal stories of their families' military experiences and discussed various groups they would like to advocate on behalf of. My students also enjoyed the creative component of designing a memorial. This was a great way to get to know students better and foster creativity in the classroom.
