Crossword puzzle (with solution and word bank) based on the novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
There are 41 words in the puzzle. Each clue is a character name, or a location important in the novel.
This is an active learning activity, which challenges students. It could be used as an in-class activity, or as a homework assignment. This is also the type of activity that you could use with early finishers, or give to a sub teacher, or use as a filler on a day when you have nothing else prepared.
I find that students enjoy the crossword format, and they view it as more fun than other assignment tasks/activities.
As a summary quiz, this is designed to be used after studying the novel. It is a great revision exercise. It jogs students' memories of characters and places mentioned in the novel. I've written the clues with as much detail as possible (while retaining a single page format), so that students will remember key facts.
The solution appears on the second page. Download the preview file to see the words used, the grid, and the solution to the puzzle.
A word bank is included to assist students. You could redact this to make it more challenging.
